HARVESTELLA is a premium action game for PC developed by Square Enix. It is a life simulation title that incorporates RPG elements in its gameplay for a distinct experience for the genre. In it, players will build a life and survive in a world wherein disaster comes with each passing season.
Compared to its contemporaries like My Time at Sandrock, HARVESTELLA offers a more action-oriented experience that is more akin to Core Keeper, wherein players will have to survive harsh conditions and face various challenges. The game is slated for a November 4, 2022 release.
The changing of seasons
HARVESTELLA starts with you awakening during the Quietus, a mysterious calamity that strikes with the passing of the seasons. During this tumultuous period, plants wither and the air becomes deadly to all who dare to walk outside. In spite of everything, the world moves forward, trying to adapt and survive. You will be doing the same as you rebuild your life and discover the truth behind the disaster.
The world of this game is divided into four distinct biomes that house the Seaslights, four giant crystals that govern the seasons, and hold a clue to the mysterious disaster plaguing the world. You’ll need to put up a settlement to serve as your shelter and a place to grow plants and raise animals for sustenance and commerce. They will also provide various bonuses as you venture out and explore.
Combat allows you to seamlessly switch between three character classes/jobs as you face a variety of enemies that require different ways to defeat them. There is also a cast of characters to meet and interact with. They might help you with your challenges. As of this writing, the game is not out yet, but there is just a few weeks left before you can finally give it a try.

Overall, HARVESTELLA is a nice blend of familiar life simulator tropes with a healthy dose of action to make the experience more engaging and interesting.
